Although in some countries the translator of an official document may claim copyright over his translation, this is not the case in Egypt. This translation of Egypt's Intellectual Property Law is not copyrightable in Egypt because Article 141 of the law makes it explicitly clear that all official documents, whatever their source or target language, are ineligible for protection.

This work is not an object of copyright in Egypt because it is an official document. Regardless of their source or target language, all official documents are ineligible for protection in Egypt, including laws, regulations, resolutions and decisions, international conventions, court decisions, award of arbitrators and decisions of administrative committees having judicial competence.
